Breast Implant Illness: Megan Bell’s Story

Breast Implant Illness: Megan Bell’s Story
Posted on

Breast Implant Illness (BII) is a term that is used by some to refer to a wide range of symptoms that can commonly develop after surgery for breast implants. Although very real, BII is not currently recognized as an official medical diagnosis, often leading to mysterious symptoms with those suffering having no definitive answers from medical professionals.

Being motivated by the word of God, Megan Bell shares her story in hopes to encourage other women who are sick and struggling and do not know why.

This is Megan Bell’s story.

In 2008, Megan underwent surgery for breast implants and for 13 years, she had no issues. However, after her second pregnancy in 2020, strange symptoms and health problems started occurring.

Symptoms included tachycardia, bradycardia, low blood pressure, extreme fatigue, hair loss, join and muscle pain, easy bruising, constipation and bloating, insomnia, frequent urination, headaches, sweating, heart palpitation, dizziness, abdominal pain, exercise intolerance, chest pain, dry eyes, shaking and tremors, nausea, memory loss, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, jaw-locking, coldness in mouth and throat, low-grade fevers, heat intolerance, persistent cough.

As most can likely imagine, these symptoms can be life-changing. Megan, who was previously full of energy, was seemingly locked to the couch, unable to move without extreme fatigue and heart palpitations.

After countless visits to medical professionals with no real answer, Megan decided to visit the neurologist. She was diagnosed with POTs Dysautonomia and the Doctor assumed long-COVID was playing a role as well. As many others battling BII hear, the medical professional said that there is no way to cure it. Unwilling to accept this, Megan decided to battle her symptoms naturally with trace minerals, salt, water, and lots of supplements that have shown to help others with symptoms of long-COVID.

Hearing such news was extremely difficult to process. However, Megan and her husband Atif turned to prayer, asking the lord for his support, love, and any answers he may have.

During this time, Atif remembered a family member that experienced similar issues. She was suffering from lupus among other life-changing symptoms without any real answers from medical professionals. In an effort to eliminate her symptoms, she had breast implants removed 2 years ago. Within 2 years after the implants were removed, her symptoms completely disappeared!

After talking with her family member, Megan was invited to join an online support group of women who were all suffering from similar symptoms, of which Megan was experiencing them all! Many of these women were struggling with autoimmune illnesses, with no real answers as to why.

Out of this group, a large number of women had taken a leap of faith and had their implants removed, and found the mysterious symptoms to disappear within 2 years. With the support of countless women behind her and lots of research, Megan felt that she had finally found an answer. Prayer, journaling, an extremely supportive family, and the love of God helped show Megan that this is what needed to be done.

At this point, Megan was having a really difficult time, and daily tasks were almost unbearable. The amazing parts of life such as spending time with her children, exercise, travel, everything you can imagine, became challenging.

Megan knew the time was NOW. Typically, when scheduling an explant (removal of implants), the process takes 4-6 weeks from an initial appointment. At first, she struggled to even find an appointment until after the New Year. Finally, she was able to find a surgeon and scheduled an appointment!

Dreading the 4-6 weeks that most patients experience, Megan called out to God once again. Asking the lord for the opportunity to have an opening in the next 7 days. Amazingly, by the grace of God, an appointment opened up the next day!

The surgeon was extremely professional through the entire process. He followed all protocols, was very open about the procedure, and helped Megan in all avenues. And so, Megan underwent explant surgery.

Low and behold, the very day after surgery almost 50% of her symptoms went away! No more bradycardia, no more tachycardia, no more low blood pressure, no more GI issues, no more sweating! Megan’s appetite returned, the fevers were gone, and she had no more symptoms of POTs Dysaytonomia! A true miracle. While some symptoms linger, Megan continues to feel better and better by the day.

While countless women have dealt with similar symptoms, it was not until October 27 of 2021 that the FDA announced the inherent risks that accompany breast implants. All products must now have a black box warning stating that they cause joint pain, fatigue, brain fog, tiredness, memory loss, cancer, AND that these are not lifetime devices.

Before, the FDA stated there were no risks, now, breast implants are seen in a very different light.

Many women are explanting and are feeling better, which may take up to 2 years. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, we encourage you to reach out to friends, family, or online support groups to help you find what is right for your body.

Thank you Megan for sharing your story, and thank you God for your amazing love and guidance.

Dear Melissa, thank you for your comment. BII (breast implant illness) has now been recognized by the FDA and for the first time in history the FDA have added blackbox warnings for breast implants, that they can cause a certain kind of cancer, fatigue, joint pain, headaches and more.
The FDA also states that breast implants are not lifetime devices and the longer you have your implants the more at risk you are for developing these conditions. Please check with the FDA website for more information.

Thankfully, since explanting I am like a brand new person and I have my energy back and my BII symptoms have gone away. Praise God! The transformation was almost instant. If you or anyone else is struggling and have breast implants, I highly recommend you to search BII and skilled doctors and surgeons in this area.

    Blessings,
    Megan Bell xo

Have you been properly tested and do you know exactly it’s breast implants. The smart thing to do is be hypnotized to see what your subconscious across in your body. You could also have had someone remote view the cause of an illness to see again with breast implants. I think too many people blame it on her breast implant without testing and advice I mean I could write a story doesn’t mean it’s true
